For those who need more room but don’t want the hassle or expense of moving house – converting your garage is the answer. Midland Garage Conversions can help you make the most of the space you already have.
We take care of everything from design through to completion and everything is built to UK building control standards.
Once you have called us we will visit your home to carry out a free, no obligation survey.
During this meeting you will be able to discuss all your requirements, answer any questions and talk you through the process.
In most cases Planning Permission will not be required but if we feel it is we can discuss your options at this point.
Building Regulations Application
You will need Buildings Control approval for work undertaken to convert your garage. This is something we take care of for you and ensure all our work meets the necessary requirements.
Each project is assessed and managed by a member of staff who holds current Construction Industry Training Board (CITB) safety management qualifications. We are committed to the safety of all our staff, clients and the general public and constantly update our Health & Safety Policy.
We will give you an indicative start date when you book in and we make the building control application. We then confirm that around a week before commencement. During the build we will be there all day, every day except the odd trip to a supplier. We keep you informed of what we are doing, how the work is progressing and what’s coming up next. We work around your home so we will always minimise any disruption and discuss the best time to carry out particular works which may briefly affect the running of your home e.g. turning off the water for a short period. We are mostly out of the house itself so there is very little disruption and we always tidy up at the end of every day, leaving the site safe, neat and clean. At the end of the process we will leave site only when you are happy with the finish and all snags are complete. If there are any teething issues we will return to site, at no cost to yourselves, to resolve anything as swiftly as possible.
Building control certification will take place in the weeks after completion when the inspector will assess the work and issue your certification.
